Coworker: Do you believe in evolution?
Me: Yes.
Coworker: Then you're a monkey!
Me: Ape.
Coworker: Hm? No monkey! Monkey see monkey do.
Me: Apes don't have tails. Monkeys do. We're apes.
Coworker: Ok so you're an ape!
Me: Yes I am.

I do this all the time. Not exactly, but not too far off! Today I was driving to work and thought: My primate ancestors would be so depressed/impressed with me. I’m driving to work like I will for the rest of my life in a complex machine humans made. Making money to buy pre-gathered food. And I don’t have to worry about lions eating me.
